This privacy policy sets out how Lanigan & Hulme uses and protects any information that you give us when you use this website.

We are committed to ensuring that your privacy is protected. Should we ask you to provide certain information by which you can be identified when using this website, then you can be assured that it will only be used in accordance with this privacy statement. We may change this policy from time to time by updating this page. You should check this page from time to time to ensure that you are happy with any changes.

Information Collection and Use

Lanigan & Hulme collects personal information when you register with Lanigan & Hulme and when you use the Lanigan & Hulme website or purchase in store. 

When you register or purchase we may ask for information such as:

  • name
  • contact information including email address
  • date of birth
  • gender
  • demographic information such as postcode, preferences and interests
  • other information relevant to customer surveys and/or offers

Once you have registered with Lanigan & Hulme you are not anonymous to us.

Lanigan &Hulme collects information about your transactions with us.

Lanigan & Hulme automatically receives and records information on our server logs from your browser, including your IP address, Lanigan & Hulme cookie information, and the pages you are browsing.

We require this information to understand your needs and in particular for the following general reasons:

  • Internal record keeping and providing anonymous reporting of customer activity for the management team
  • To fulfill your requests for products and services
  • To improve our products and services.
  • To contact you. We may periodically send promotional emails about new products, special offers or other information which we think you may find interesting using the email address which you have provided.
  • From time to time, we may also use your information to contact you for market research purposes. We may contact you by email, phone or mail.

Lanigan & Hulme does not store your credit card, debit card or PayPal account details on its server or systems. Payments are processed by our payment provider WorldPay and it is they who keep this information in order for us to receive your payment and issue any refunds that might be necessary. At no time does Lanigan & Hulme have access to your credit card details

Information Sharing and Disclosure.

Lanigan & Hulme does not rent, sell, or share personal information about you with other people or companies except to provide products or services you’ve requested from our website, when we have your permission, or under the following circumstances:

  1. We respond to subpoenas, court orders, or legal process, or to establish or exercise our legal rights or defend against legal claims.
  2. We believe it is necessary to share information in order to investigate, prevent, or take action regarding illegal activities, suspected fraud, situations involving potential threats to the physical safety of any person, violations of Lanigan & Hulme’s terms of use, or as otherwise required by law.

If Lanigan & Hulme is acquired by or merged with another company, Lanigan & Hulme will notify you before information about you is transferred and becomes subject to a different privacy policy.

Below is a full list of how, and why, we may share data in order to deliver our services.

Squarespace is our eCommerce  platform who operate our online store and point of sale. They are fully safeguarded and have a number of data protection tools in place. You can see the Squarespace policies and terms of service by clicking here.

If you place an order with Lanigan & Hulme on our Squarespace account we will store invoice details (full name, billing address, shipping address, telephone number - if provided - and email address). These form part of our financial records.

We also store the IP address from which the order was placed, for fraud protection purposes.

Squarespace trigger and send all emails related the the processing of an order or return, by placing an order with us you agree to receive these specific emails.

Squarespace has servers located in the US and the EU.

Worldpay and Stripe  : Worldpay and Stripe are our payment processors. By shopping with Lanigan & Hulme you agree to allow us to pass on your card details (via the web shop or PDQ) to Lanigan & Hulme does not view or store these card details, they are held and processed at all times by Worldpay. Paypal: If you choose to pay via PayPal on our website, we will store the email address and reference code for that PayPal transaction. Our PayPal account will also store your delivery address and pass it back to your Squarespace account.

Mailchimp: Our email newsletter is supported by a tool named Mailchimp. When you agree to receive marketing from Lanigan & Hulme, we will upload and store your name (if given) and your email address to Mailchimp. You can unsubscribe at any time by contacting Mailchimp or Lanigan & Hulme, or by using the unsubscribe button on the bottom of any Lanigan & Hulme/Mailchimp communication.

Gmail: Our internal and external email is handled securely by Google's Gmail. Customer emails are stored for future reference. Their policies can be read here.

It is our internal policy not to hold any data locally, except to process it (for example, if complaining customer lists) at which point we will revert to storing this information within our cloud-based drive as soon as we have finished processing it.

Your ability to edit or delete your account information and preferences

You can edit your Lanigan & Hulme account information, including your address and contact details, at any time. You cannot directly change the name, address, contact details and other details of existing orders, but you may be able to change your order details by contacting info@laniganandhulme.com

We reserve the right to send you certain communications that we consider to be part of your Lanigan & Hulme account without allowing you to opt-out of receiving them. These will be relevant service announcements and administrative messages. You can remove your Lanigan & Hulme account to stop receiving these messages. Please note that if you place an order with the site, Lanigan & Hulme will keep a permanent record of your details as entered at the time of the order.

For other account information, or for those with an account who have not placed an order, please contact info@laniganandhulme.com for full disclosure on the data we hold on you, and to request it's removal.

Confidentiality and security

We limit access to personal information about you to employees who we believe reasonably need to come into contact with that information to provide products and services to you and to do their jobs.

How we use cookies
